What do we love here at Clever more than beautiful design? Beautiful design tied to a great cause! And by golly method has done it! This home cleaning products brand has seen great changes from the very beginning of their launch ‘til now. Not only do they make a great product, but their packaging and labeling is so beautiful that it makes us want to wash, scrub and clean all day.
Recently this amazing brand launched their newest product, the 2 in 1 dish + hand soap packaged in ocean plastic. YES! That’s right, 100% found plastic from the ocean. Over the past year and a half the method team went out and gathered more than a ton of plastic from Hawaiian beaches in order to repurpose their findings to be used as bottles for their soap. These bottles will be sold exclusively at whole foods in the US, so next time you’re in the market for some cleaning supplies, check out method and support their efforts in making the world a more beautifully designed and sustainable place!

Is anyone else out there as excited about Dylan’s Candy Bar’s big move to L.A. as we are? We have always loved the beautiful design and treats at the N.Y. location, so we couldn’t wait to check out this new local hot spot. While it is significantly smaller than the one on the east coast, it was still totally cool! Every wall was lined in varieties of candy that we had never even heard of, it was fantastic. Judging by our photos you can see that our take away was pretty great, and we will most certainly be returning for round two.
GUESS WHAT! National Cat Day is coming up and we’re just so excited that we decided to celebrate a few days early. Please note that to us, every day is cat day, but today we are doing it BIG! We decked the office out in cat gear, had a special lunch, and dressed for the occasion. We wish every day was Cat Day! What are you doing to celebrate this vurry purrfect holiday?
The Clever Cats
This wine packaging by Stacked Wines definitely caught our clever eye instantly at the local Albertsons. The shape alone is unique and unlike any other wine bottle we’ve seen. Then, at second glance we realized… 4 individual cups of wine STACKED to look like one wine bottle. Our minds were blown!
Check out Stacked Wine’s sweet interactive website.
We are very excited to announce our newest client, winner of the 2011 NFTE National Youth Entrepreneurship Challenge, Hayley Hoverter and her brand Sweet dis(Solve)! Hayley’s vision and story to create an eco-friendly, paperless, soluble sugar packet is quite inspiring to us Clever folks. Our team is thrilled to be working with her you’ll just have to wait and see what we come up with together!
Check out the link below to see a video of Hayley pitching her idea to a very distinguished panel:
...Apple iPhone, that is! There’s been a lot of talk around the office recently about the long awaited launch of the new iPhone. We can’t wait. In preparation for the big day we’re doing some pretty serious research into the protection of these little devices. Some of our favorites include a typographic representation of California, an illustration of some of our favorite creative weapons and of course, an 8-Bit star wars illustration.
We’ve heard the story 100 times.
Boy meets Girl.
Girl gives Boy her number.
Yada, yada, yada. Boy and Girl fall in love…and get engaged. Obviously.
It all seems so easy…until the wedding has to be planned. Yikes.
But YOU ARE IN LUCK! This weekend, Fizz and Frills is hosting an event to help all brides-to be!
Phew. Meltdown avoided.
And what makes this event even cooler? Our client, Nifty Gifty will be there. Check it out; you won’t be disappointed: http://www.fizzandfrills.com/participants/niftygifty.html
3 more days.
Oh the anticipation.
3 more days until the London summer Olympics officially kick off and we find ourselves glued to our TVs cheering, screaming and rooting for team USA.
But of course, being the designers that we are, we were just as excited to see the entire, cohesive London games graphic look unveiled. Having seen the logo several years ago, we already knew that the London games were going in a completely unique visual direction. We were not disappointed. From the color coding of the events, to the usage of the custom font carried through to the numbers on the track; the thought and details that go into branding a world wide event of this magnitude are truly amazing. We tip our hats to you London, well done… well done…
However, we might not feel so gracious once Michael Phelps is in the pool….

Remember back in school when it was field trip day? It was all about getting that permission slip signed so you could cram onto the yellow bus with your best friend (who hopefully didn’t forget her permission slip on the kitchen counter), leave campus and experience something new and exciting. So much cooler than being stuck with the PE teacher doing the alternate assignment with the two other kids who didn’t know how to forge their parent’s signature. Rookies.
Yeah, that was us last week.
Friday, we ventured to the downtown MOCA to experience the Andy Warhol exhibit and to find new sources of inspiration. Clearly Mrs. Gabor wanted her students to step away from the computer, get “off campus” and see an art exhibit that would be a creative resource. Like all good teachers, she knew what she was doing. It was a day of visionary art, creative conversation and new perspectives. I think we all got A’s (well… most of us… we can’t vouch for Drew…).
And obviously, we had to eat at the new Umamicatessen for lunch. Kind of wish we could brown bag their sliced meats, truffle fries and donuts everyday. But then again, maybe they were magical because we were on a field trip and everything is a little more awesome when you are not stuck in 3rd period.
Naaaahhhh, on second thought, they would be amazing any day.
